Solar winds affecting Mercury

I read this article is on Spaceweather.com today:

SOLAR WIND BLASTS MERCURY: At a NASA teleconference yesterday, researchers working with data from the Messenger spacecraft offered new evidence that gusts of solar wind are penetrating Mercury's magnetic field and eroding material off the planet's surface. The spacecraft has actually flown through plumes of ionized sodium scoured from the surface and escaping from weak points in Mercury's magnetosphere.
So what does this have to do with us, you ask?

Astrologically, Mercury represents our logical, rational thinking process, and our human-level consciousness. Symbolically, the solar wind "eroding material" off Mercury's surface represents how our old, linear ways of thinking are being changed in major ways through the heightened energies that are now working with us. This "erosion" is just one step in the process of opening our rational minds to accept the grander scheme of things, and awakening the Higher Consciousness capacity within each of us.

It also reminds us that even when solar winds from CMEs are not directed at the Earth, we are still affected through their impact on the other planets in our solar system.

  1. Pam,

Thanks! No wonder my mind feels like its being squeezed and stripped of stuff! Lots of old 3-D linear resentments coming up to the surface to be sloughed off. Phew!!

But on a much happier note, the heavy, drowsy energy of September seems to be receding in order to make way for the new month of October. A strong hunch that October will allow me to get back to my workaholic ways :)

  2. Pam,

I went to the SpaceWeather.com website that you provided a link to and read that along with Mercury, Venus will also be hit with a CME. Does this mean that we should expect a paradigm shift in what we love and value :)

  3. Pam,

Barbara Hand Clow says the following regarding the SGC: The Fall Equinox always activates the SGC energy zone, since it is located at 2 Libra from Earth's perspective. But its also said to be located at 26 Sagittarius......from a non-earth perspective then??? What would the 26 Sag position be compared to the 2 Libra? Tropical astro is from earth's perspective? Sidereal is from the actual celestial sphere? So 26 Sag is the Sidereal position?

    What do you think?

  4. This is a breath of fresh air for me and makes total sense in light of our Cosmic Consciousness.

Thanks Pam for the share! :)

I too am happy the energies of September are behind us...what a month! Whew!

Blessings of the Light to You!

  5. Thanks for your comments, TrueBlue and AkasaWolfSong!

In response to your posts, TrueBlue:

Interesting about the solar winds reaching Venus, too -- since the planet is further from the Sun than Mercury, I'm guessing it won't have the same erosion effect on a physical level. I'll need to go read about that further. But either way, I agree with you about the symbolism in our experience and the shift in our values and relationships.

About the SGC -- that's actually the Super Galactic Center, which is in early Libra. The Galactic Center is in late Sagittarius. The Galactic Center is the rotational center of our Milky Way galaxy. The SGC is the rotational center of many galaxies.

There's a good explanation and graphic at this site if you want to read more:

  6. Pam,

Thanks! For taking the time to distinguish between the SGC and the GC. It makes perfect sense now. I will go and read the "SouledOut" website :)

  7. Is it just me or are other people experiencing food binges again?

  8. Hi TrueBlue -- I'm guessing you're feeling this latest wave of high-frequency energies. It hit me Monday morning between 10 and 11 a.m. Pacific Time...
